Affordable housing continues to be the greatest unmet need of the women leaving A Safe Place's six-week shelter program. In addition, women and children are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population in America. A Safe Place's Supportive Housing program helps survivors of domestic violence with safe, affordable housing that also offers on-site counseling and life skills programs.
Since opening in July 2011, A Safe Place's Supportive Housing apartments have been home to 20 women and their children who have fled domestic abuse. Each family receives subsidized rental assistance so that the amount they pay for their apartment is never more than 30% of their income. A Safe Place also provides on-site supportive services and referrals to other community service providers so that families can heal from the violence they have experienced in the past and prepare for an independent future while having stable housing. The 20-unit apartment building can accommodate diverse families in our one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.
One, two and three bedroom apartments are currently available in our supportive housing facility. Please contact Ludwig Company at (847) 445-6428 for more information.
