Canceled fundraisers and mounting service costs are straining our resources. We hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during these trying times as the last several months have been extremely challenging for all of us. It is particularly difficult for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, who are more vulnerable than ever. Victims may be trapped at home and unable to reach their support systems. A Safe Place has responded by keeping our doors open and continuing to provide essential services, though this has caused a significant strain on our resources.
The pandemic has forced us to alter three of our largest fundraisers: we are hosting our Wine, Women & Shoes event virtually and investigating alternatives for our EmpoweRun 5K and Annual Golf Outing. We anticipate these changes will amount to a revenue loss of more than $300,000. We know the deficit will be even greater due to the increased volume of services we are providing… But you can help us fill these gaps.
