#GivingTuesday is an important day, a day to help those most fragile in our communities. A day to unite us all in generosity to make a difference in the world at the start of the busy holiday season.
Real children and adults in our communities are struggling every day to survive and cope with the hurt and fear from violence in their own homes.
Thanks to Supporters Like You, Last Year We Helped Change the Lives of Thousands of Survivors.
With your help, we were able to create a new normal for survivors of domestic violence. Here’s how we made a difference together:
32,912 people received life-changing support when they needed it most.
4,678 callers found a compassionate voice on our 24/7 Crisis Line.
31,927 nights of emergency shelter were provided to 228 adults and 179 children escaping domestic violence.
3,016 survivors were guided through the courtroom to request life-saving orders of protection.
1,654 safe custody exchanges and supervised visitations helped keep families protected.
6,415 students and adults in the community, were provided education to help prevent violence.
But there are still many in need.
$50 provides safe family visits at our Family Visitation Center for 1 family for 2 weeks
$100 provides 3 hours of prevention education for 60 middle and high school students
$250 provides 24 hours of emergency crisis line services
$500 provides 10 victims orders of protection, advocacy, safety planning, and referrals
$1,000 provides 10 weeks of a support group for 5-10 survivors.
Together, we’re building a safer future for those who need it most.
