Covid-19 Updates

Wine Women & Shoes

A Safe Place is so grateful to our staff, volunteers, sponsors, Board of Directors, Steering Committee and supporters for a very successful Wine, Women & Shoes event. Even with major alterations taking place in order to comply with CDC guidelines and keep everyone safe during the pandemic, the event was a great success.

Donations are STILL coming in, and so far your contributions total more than
$80,000 to benefit A Safe Place & Our Survivors!
“There are only fragmented images and bits of sound clips. I see my abuser block me from feeding my child. I see another child...suffering because he hears his father screaming at me and sees me crying... I hear my abuser’s voice, ‘If you think you will ever make it without me, you are crazy.’ And then there is the shame. It can drown you. You become irrelevant, numb and invisible. Money and education will not save you. They will not remove your shame or put life back into your soul. I ask myself why I even exist. I am nothing. My lawyer was the one to finally say to me, “You know you are being abused. I want you to go to A Safe Place. They will take care of you.”
