Professional Training

Understanding the patterns of domestic violence, the dynamics of abusive relationships, and the risks involved is extremely valuable for those working with both survivors and perpetrators.

A Safe Place offers domestic violence training and education to address domestic violence assistance within various professions including police departments, the sheriff’s department, attorneys, judges, survivor advocates, personnel from the State’s Attorney’s, probation, and Public Defender’s offices, emergency rooms, hospital, and other health care providers, social service agencies, clergy, and school administrators, faculty, and social workers.

The 40-hour domestic violence training program is now offered in formats that allow more accessibility to professionals in the social and legal service areas.

For more information about our educational program, please contact our Outreach Department at (847) 731-7165, ext. 1002
